I'm trying! The playtest cycles are long and intense [and thorough... I hope]. Sometimes even seemingly small tweaks to a section of the game sends design ripples through the rest that have to be polished. The game designs are so dependent upon layers and interactions that I have to make sure that they all compliment each other and yield the right balance and feel.

That's one of the reasons I opened up OP4S as a beta. Not only to hold people over until some full releases come out, but to give them a chance to give some feedback, speed the process, an see the scope of some of the development.

That, and in terms of development cycles, I'm trying to be the Blizzard/Rare of tabletop games! :-)

That brings up another point that I'll probably post in an announcement. Anyone in the beta should save the various file versions under different names. That way, if they prefer one of the earlier editions, then they would have it for their personal use.

Games are coming soon!

I hope that it's useful.

I really want to do a complete guide after the BETA is complete on map/level design as it applies to the RTS game engine [and tabletop games in general].

This article is very simple, but I thought that if player's could see some examples of how I developed the elements to work together, then it would help spawn some creative community maps/scenarios. You know the old adage_

You have to know the rules to break them effectively :-)

This I'm excited about! I've got a lot of 15mm stuff that's just waiting for the right rules. New system? Can't wait to see what direction you're going to take. The mention of video games and disconnects definitely has me curious!!

Will the yahoo group be up soon?
